A few of us here have signed up for the Victorian tunnel tours which start next week. The tunnels which stretch a few miles long under our great City will be open for the first time since the war, during that time they were used as air raid shelters. The experience is free until may 2010 and funded by lottery money. It starts off at Byker Farm. For more info get in touch with tunnelenquiries@newcastle.gov.uk
